Yes.

Audio and video files can be uploaded to an assignment just like a word or PDF document. As long as no file restriction is set in the assignment, any kind of file can be uploaded. The only restriction for the file is that it must be under 500MB. If you would like to restrict the students to only be able to upload a specific type of video, you may do so using the "Restrict File Upload Type" option when creating the assignment. 

There is another option in Canvas called "Media Recordings". This option allows the student to record a video in Canvas using their computer. They can then upload this newly recorded video or audio file directly into the assignment. Faculty members can view the video directly in the Canvas, and do not need to download it to their computer first.
